The Victims Legal Service provides free legal advice and support to victims of violent crimes who need help to seek financial assistance to help recover. This could be through the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS),  the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT), or through a compensation order from the person who committed the crime.

 

Northern Community Legal Service can assist Victims of Crime with ongoing legal support for:

• Applying to the FAS or VOCAT;

• Applying for compensation against the person who committed the crime; or

• Enforcing compensation orders against the person who committed the crime.
